The challenge of a lifetime

We’re so excited to be supporting Kate Culverwell and Anna Blackwell on a record breaking, world first, tandem kayaking expedition from England to the Black Sea.

Kate and Anna have been training for over a year for the challenge, which will see them paddle 4,000km along canals and rivers through 13 countries. The challenge has already raised over £21,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Kate and Anna approached Tackt-Isle to see if we could help them with some instruction, specifically the sea kayaking element for the initial part of their journey across the English channel.

James, our Senior Kayaking Instructor, joined Kate and Anna off the beach in Bembridge and ran a session covering paddle techniques and what to do in the event of capsize.

With less than 2 weeks to go, we have our fingers crossed that everything goes to plan and that the weather is favourable. You can follow their adventure here
